Anna was born January 16, 1923, in Havertown, PA, the daughter of the late George and Anna McDaniel.
After graduation from Haverford High School in 1944, Anna attended Ursinus College and graduated with a BS in Health & Physical Education. During college, she particularly enjoyed playing field hockey, but she was also an excellent swimmer! During her college summers, she was a lifeguard at the old Flanders Pool on the boardwalk in Ocean City, New Jersey.
Anna taught and coached at Southampton High School and Klinger Junior High School in PA.
In 1945, Anna married George (Robbie) Robinson. They squeezed in a quick marriage ceremony at home, while Robbie was on leave from his duties during WWII. They were married for 44 years and had 3 children; Craig Robinson (Terry), Marianne Smith and Gail Williams (Dave). Anna is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Anne and Robbie purchased a duplex and later a cottage in Ocean City, NJ. We all have fond memories of going to the beach and riding the waves, riding bikes on the boardwalk and enjoying salt water taffy at Shriver’s and Copper kettle fudge.
Anna enjoyed many activities and hobbies. In her retired years she enjoyed golfing and travel. She especially enjoyed painting with watercolors. We were always thrilled to receive a birthday or Christmas card that she painted herself. She painted very well through her 90s!
Anna also loved flowers and we enjoyed taking her to Longwood Gardens in Kennett Square, PA, to see the floral displays, Christmas lights, spring tulips and fountain & light shows!
Anna, Ann, mom, grandmom, or great-grandmom, was a kind, hard-working, generous and elegant woman. She will be greatly missed and forever remembered.
A celebration of life will follow at a later date.
