Brett L. Schneider, age 67, of Lower Saucon Township passed away at his home on September 25, 2026. He was one of five sons of the late Arnold H., Jr. and Shirlee L. (Mock) Schneider. Brett was a graduate of Liberty High School, Class of 1977.
Brett was the father of Geoffrey (Brandan), Mandi (Charlie), and Jessica (Justin), and was predeceased by his son Michael (Kristen). His grandchildren Ava, Joel, Justin, Julianna, and Jake knew him as "Pop." He was the proud uncle to several nieces and nephews, as well as an honorary uncle to many. He called friends his brothers and became like family to those who loved him, especially the folks on Alpine Drive and in the 'Gass. His longtime girlfriend Joanne Sigafoos and her children (Dina, Nikki, Andy) will miss Brett and his antics as well.
"Let me tell you something" was a one-liner Brett used to lighten the mood, but ultimately when he did tell you something, you either learned something or ended up in tears from laughter. Always one to say "livin' the dream" no matter how hard the day had been, Brett knew how to put the needs of others ahead of his own. There are very few small engines he didn't tune, problems he couldn't solve, or lights he left not turned to LED. Often misunderstood as being difficult to handle, Brett ultimately gave his effort and skinned knuckles to dragging his neighbors out of tough spots - sharpening their mower blades while cursing about hitting every rock in PA and servicing snow blowers in hopes that no storm would approach. His "stock of parts" was immense, and if you needed a shear pin or a new belt, he likely had it - 'cause you "just never know." Brett appreciated good food, especially meat from Saylor's, cooking on his flat top, and making homemade french fries "the right way."
Whether it was building his own home, a friend's, or helping others improve their properties, Brett took pride in building a legacy of creating things with his hands. Woodworking, welding, and literal home-building are just a few of the talents he had and shared with others. As with many things, not enough time was spent asking him how he did what he did, rather than simply moving on to the next task. His family and friends will simply have to move forward with his voice in their heads, or the smell of oil and cigarettes in their noses, urging them on toward the completion of a task that will leave them frustrated, cursing, and missing his help.
Brett was proud of a twenty-plus-year career at B Braun Biotech, where he was a plant manager. The friendships he forged there became the cornerstone of community in his neighborhood, and friendships that lasted the rest of his life.
A casual Celebration of Life in his honor will take place on Friday, October 16th from 6-9pm at the Edward H. Ackerman American Legion Post 397 in Hellertown, PA. In lieu of buying him a Busch beer, please send donations to Saucon Valley High School to the attention of the “Secondary trade school scholarship fund” or to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
If you can imagine him saying it, just know that he would tell you to "sharpen your blades, keep spare fuses in stock, and grease your equipment."
