David Frost Hopkins

David Frost Hopkins, age 76, beloved father, brother and uncle passed away in the early evening of June 23rd, 2026 surrounded by the love of his family. David was born in Berea, OH on May 8,1950 to Elizabeth and Philip Hopkins. He is survived by his daughter Lindsay Hopkins, brother Phil and sister-in-law Jo Hopkins, niece and nephew Kelly and Matt Hopkins, and his good friend and ex-wife Tish Hopkins and her extended family. He was a friend to many and is also survived by his beloved community of AA brothers and the church community of the Ardmore United Methodist Church.

Dave held a Bachelor’s of Science in Agriculture/Natural Resources and majored in Parks and Recreation from The Ohio State University. For many years he worked in Insulation Sales until he followed his passion for cooking and went to the Loretta Paganini School of Cooking / International Culinary Arts & Sciences Institute and received a certification in Culinary Arts. From there he worked for several restaurants and catering services including Bubba's Q with former defensive end for the Cleveland Browns Al Baker.

He had many interests including boating on Lake Erie, fishing, wood working including antique gun restoration, working on cars including completing a frame-off restoration of a 1970 Corvette and of course cooking. He was also an excellent writer and known for his witty Christmas letters.

Dave was a powerful soul with a strong will and tender heart and will be missed by many.
