Dorothy (Horvath) Beaver, born on September 13, 1929, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, passed peacefully into eternity on Saturday, February 28, 2026, secure in the promise of her faith. She was the beloved daughter of the late Joseph and Dorothy Horvath.
Dorothy was known by many names — Mom, MomMom, Dorothy, Dot, Billie, and Speck — but the name most meaningful to her was “child of God.” Her strong and unwavering faith was evident to all who knew her. She lived with the joyful assurance that she would spend eternity in the loving arms of her Lord and Savior, reunited with those who had gone before her.
She will be remembered for her positive outlook on life and her deep belief that no matter the circumstances, there is always something to be thankful for. Dorothy delighted her family with treasured anecdotes, often reflecting on how a rock tossed into water creates ripples that extend far beyond the point of impact. In much the same way, “a girl from Kensington” created ripples of love, kindness, and faith that touched countless lives.
In addition to her parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by her beloved husband, William; her brothers, Joseph and Donald; and her sister, Celia.
She is survived by her brother, Jack; her sons, Kenny (Denise), Michael (Leona), and Tim (Mary); and her daughter, Kathleen. She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren: Andrea, Shelby, Marissa, Mikayla, Christian, Grace, and Quinn.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, March 21st at 10:00 a.m. at Wesley Enhanced Living, 200 Veterans Lane, Doylestown, PA 18901, with Reverend Emily Given officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Dorothy’s memory to The Church of the Messiah, 1001 DeKalb Pike, Lower Gwynedd, PA 19002 ([email protected]).
Dorothy’s life was a testament to faith, gratitude, and love — and the ripples of her life will continue on in all who were blessed to know her.
