Matthew John Timko

Matthew John Timko, 43, of Downingtown, peacefully passed away on May 31, 2025, from the complications of a series of illnesses over the last several months. Matt was born on March 3, 1982, in Lehigh County, Pennsylvania, and lived in the Pocono Lake area until he went to college at the University of Maryland in 2000. Matt graduated from the University in 2004 cum laude with a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice, which brought him to Chester County where he proudly worked as a juvenile probation officer until 2012. Matt left the probation office to pursue a career in insurance and was then employed by Liberty Mutual as a Claims Specialist. Matt also taught drum lessons at the Music and Arts School in Exton where he enthusiastically provided lessons to aspiring drummers.

Matt married Kristen Mammarella-Timko in 2012 and was a proud father to their daughter, Emerson. Matt loved being a girl dad and never thought twice about having his nails painted, having his make-up done or attending all of Emerson’s dance performances, where he loudly clapped and “wooed” from the front of the auditorium. Matt, a self-proclaimed simple guy, loved the beach, Pearl Jam, working out in the yard, and game nights with his family, who will miss him forever.

Matt is survived by his wife Kristen, and his daughter Emerson.
