Richard J. Derrick

Richard J. Derrick 73, a resident of Downingtown, PA, died Wednesday, March 10, 2021 in his home. He was the husband of Francisca (De Silva) Derrick to whom he was married 51 years. Born in Lansdale, Montgomery County, PA, September 28, 1947, Richard was the son of the late Oscar J. and Gertrude (Bradle) Derrick. He faithfully and honorably served his country in the Army during the Vietnam War and was awarded the Bronze Star. A graduate of Lansdale High School Richard studied French Cuisine and Pastry in Germany. He worked as a chef for many years in a variety of restaurants and was especially proud of his Grand Marnier cake.

Richard attended Jewish services at the VA Chapel in Coatesville.

Richard is survived by his loving wife, Francisca; son, Mathieu J. Derrick of Downingtown; sibling, Paul Derrick; pre-deceased by sibling Jacqueline Landis.

A memorial service will be held at a later date in Washington’s Crossing, PA.
