

Sylvia lived a long life and was able to bless many with her presence. Her family and friends remember her as a kind, accepting, sensitive, steadfast woman – with an unforgettable laugh! She unconditionally embraced new family members as her own and always had an encouraging word for a struggling soul. Through all of life’s ups and downs, she carried on, unwavering, with a laugh that would light up the room.
Sylvia was born on April 15, 1928, in her parents’ home in Orange, MA. She was the daughter of the late Erroll P. and Mary (Neylon) Crowl. A child of The Great Depression, Sylvia graduated from Orange High School in Orange, MA, and the Salter Secretarial School in Worcester, MA. She worked for the Minute Tapioca Company in Orange, MA, the Gage Hamilton & June law firm in Worcester, MA, and Texas Instruments in Dallas, TX, from which she retired in 1992. She was a member of St. Peters Pikeland United Church of Christ.
Surviving are her loving husband of almost 71 years, Hugh Lawson; 2 sons, Erik (Gail) Lawson and Douglas (Susan) Lawson; 2 daughters, Enid (Dan) Resenic and Sonja (Gregory) Wheelan; 6 grandchildren, Erika (Eric) Thayer, Michael Maggiore, Olivia Lawson, Andrew Lawson, John Lawson, and William Lawson; a sister-in-law, Pauline (Henry) Stevens, and many nieces and nephews. Sylvia was predeceased by two sisters, Marion (Paul) Deegan, Nyca (Arnold) Hall and a sister-in-law, Virginia (George) Gore.
