

Corky passed away peacefully on Friday, August 1, 2025 at his home in Shartlesville, PA. He was 74 years old, born on October 28, 1950 to the late Alice Julia (Gottschall) and William Joseph Ross, Sr.
After graduating from Neshaminy High School in 1969, Corky spent his early years as a taxidermist and commercial diver. He later worked several years as a machinist, and finished out his working career as a Constable for the State of Pennsylvania. When he was not working, he enjoyed sharing his love of the outdoors with his children and grandchildren, having coffee (and bourbon) with friends, and falling asleep during movies.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Diane Marie (Hinderliter) Ross; daughters Courtney Ross of Levittown, Jill (Ross) and Andrew Butler of Newtown Square, and Bonnie (Ross) and Ryan Willoughby of Great Cacapon; grandchildren Lara, Karl Jr, and Tyler Horvath, Elena and Liliana Butler, and Piper (Ross), Nathanael, William, Avery and Alexander Willoughby; great-grandchildren Dakota Horvath; siblings Alicia (Ross) Lawlor and Georgan (Ross) Matkowski; and many other friends and family. He will be deeply missed by all.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his uncle, William Gottschall.
Corky’s memorial service will be held on the 30th of August from 2-6PM at The Shartlesville Fire Company at 5637 Old Rt 22, Shartlesville, PA 19554. Please bring your favorite photos to display.
