Dave, the father of two wonderful daughters, was born on August 8th, 1949 in Harrisburg, PA. He was the son of the late Matilda and David A Baer Sr. He graduated from Susquehanna High School in 1967.
He worked at Brenner Furniture in Middletown, PA where the old Fox’s Market used to be. He also worked for the Salvation Army, which lead him to travel across the US to help with many different historic events, one of which was the aftermath of 9/11 at the Pentagon. At the end of his work career, he drove school bus and loved every single minute.
He met Marsha Irene Deaner, swept her off of her feet and they married and begin their family a short time later. Having those two wonderful daughters, Robin and Kandi with two awesome son-in-laws, Rodney and Rick respectively, was just not enough for Dave. He leaves a legacy of three grandsons, Mark (wife, Val), Ryan, and Raymond; plus four great grandchildren, Carolina, Ava, Austin, and Ryder, as well as a bunch of fur grandchildren.
He also is survived by his brother Kenneth Baer Sr. and Sister Jane Chau. As well as nephews, nieces, great nieces and great nephews. Dave has now earned his wings and has flown up to be with his wife, Sister-in-law Carol, and many other friends and family. Waiting to see him up there are his fur children Winslow, Winston, and Zeke.
Before leaving earth on the next flight to heaven, his family provided him with a bag of pretzels that he enjoyed as a snack. Unfortunately, his other favorite foods such as the carrots, apples, and Ramen noodles would not have made the journey with him due to restrictions. Among other things you may or may not know about Dave, he was quite the chatter box and search engine. Whether you were a stranger, family member, friend, other or anything in between. If you were to encounter Dave, you would be sitting or standing with him for a long time getting to know him, and he would get to know you. He loved to talk to anyone, no matter the age. He also loved to sit on his porch at his apartment and just watch everything; the sky, trees, planes, trains, and automobiles, as well as people going by. He also loved to drive and loved cooking. Despite the begging and pleading, he took some of his favorite recipes with him as well, such as his stuffing, pot pie, pumpkin pies with coconut, and many others.
There will be no funeral services, however, the family will be holding a celebration of life event on what would have been his 77th birthday, August 8, 2026.
