

David Ellison passed away at home in Mechanicsburg, PA on Thursday August 27th at the age of 81. Born in Grosse Pointe, MI on October 16, 1944, he was the son of Jerold and Margretta Ellison.
When David was a young boy, his family lived in Princeton, NJ where David's first job was selling football programs at the university football games. The family moved to Philadelphia PA where David attended Northeast High School and began dating his high school sweetheart, Janice Weber. After graduating from Maryville College in TN in 1966 David and Janice married. They lived in many states throughout the country. David proudly served in the US Marines which included a tour in Vietnam, attaining the rank of Captain and earning many awards including the Purple Heart medal. Afterwards, David began working for 3M Company where he continued until retiring in 2005 as a national sales manager. Retirement allowed David more time to enjoy his friends and family including his 4 grandchildren. Each summer, he looked forward to time on Long Beach Island in NJ with his family. David and Janice lived in Upper Makefield Township in PA for 41 years before moving to Mechanicsburg, PA to be closer to family.
David is survived by his wife of sixty years Janice, his daughters Kristen Apple and Dawn Wagner, sons-in-law Neal Apple and Ben Wagner, as well as his grandchildren, Lindsay Staples and her husband John, Tyler Apple, Max Wagner and Logan Wagner. He is also survived by his sister Bonnie Greer and her husband Keith, along with many nieces and nephews. David was preceded in death by his parents and sisters Maureen Jeter and Margie Tees.
Visitation with the family is planned for Saturday September 12th at 10:00am with a Celebration of Life service to follow at 11:00 am at Aldersgate United Methodist Church in Mechanicsburg, PA.
An interment with military honors will be held for the family at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
