

Dawn Irene Spangler, 86, of New Cumberland, passed away October 6, 2026.
She was born July 30, 1940, in Dundalk, MD, a daughter of the late Willis and Jessie Mae Marshall.
Dawn was a graduate of New Cumberland High School and later attended HACC, where she studied nutrition and became a Dietetic Technician. She later continued her education at Wesleyan Bible Institute and was ordained in 2002. She devoted her ministry to serving Christ as a pastor at Table Life Church and Strinestown Church. Dawn deeply loved her family and her congregations and was a true friend to so many. She lived her faith through the way she cared for others and was a light for Jesus throughout her life. Dawn is survived by her daughter, Sherry Herbert; her grandson and adopted son, Mick Spangler and his wife, Sabrina; her granddaughter, Jessie Mae Jaworski and her husband, Tyler;
her grandson, Micah Smith; her great-grandchildren, Jackson, Madison, Joel, Delaney, Astrid, Nathaniel, and Caleb; many nieces and nephews; many faithful friends; and her beloved dog, Sophie.
In addition to her parents, Dawn was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jay C. Spangler, in 2016; her son, Jay D. Spangler, in 2013; her siblings, Leora, Willis, Charles, and Marvin; her special friends, Judy Meredith and Nancy Myers; and many other loved ones who went before her.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, November 7, 2026, at Table Life Church of the Nazarene in New Cumberland, PA. A celebration of Dawn's life will follow the service, filled with food, fellowship, music, games, and shared memories, much like the gatherings she loved to host. Guests who wish to do so are welcome to bring a dish to share.
