Faye “Connie” Davis was born in Wrightsville, Georgia, to the late Frank and Rheda Wright Davis, who welcomed the birth of their second child on December 10, 1945. She was called to her heavenly home on August 27, 2025.
Raised in a Christian home, full of love and devotion, she was proud to call Steelton/Bressler home. Connie confessed Christ at an early age and was baptized at Beulah Baptist Church, while a member she was active for many years on the usher board, and singing in the choir. Always keeping God first, she also attended United Baptist Church during her adult life.
A graduate of Central Dauphin High School in 1963, she also attended Thompson Institute, where she completed her formal training in Computer Programing.
She became a valued and respected 30-year employee of Bell Telephone (now Verizon) known to be helpful, and well-liked by her co-workers. While at Bell/Verizon, successful networking and quick learning ability, afforded her opportunities in various departments such as the Service, Personnel & Accounting Departments. She served as the supervisor of the engineering department prior to retirement.
Connie showed an interest and natural talent for dressmaking, at a very young age. Under the watchful and experienced eye of her mother, Rheda, she became an accomplished seamstress, making multiple outfits that rivaled professional brands. Her talent as a local seamstress for wedding and social events, was well known. A favored past-time was crafting matching outfits for her God-daughter and her favorite doll Coco. Always at the peak of fashion, Connie had a love for quality designer shoes and purses, which enhanced her already graceful, elegant style. Forever thoughtful, she would often share her gently loved fashions with family and friends when she was ready to make room for something new.
Anyone who knew Connie, knew the love she had for her family, as well as the two greatest gifts to walk into her life, Sasha and Cheyenne (fur babies). Connie was well known in her community, often visiting with neighbors on her daily walks. As she encountered health challenges, spending less time in the public eye, you could be sure to get a phone call or a greeting card, which was her true ministry. Connie wanted you to know she didn’t forget and was thinking about you. Her love for family and friends sustained her during her last hospital stay as she recalled the names of loved ones and the memories, she shared with them. To the very end she reminded any and all that would listen, especially hospital staff, to “Put your trust in god, he has the final say”.
Connie was preceded in death by her parents and her only sibling, Barry L Davis. She is survived by a host of cousins and relatives throughout Pennsylvania and across the United States. The family is particularly thankful for the support provided Connie by her cousin, Sheena Wright Smith, her neighbor, and friend, Brenda Fulton-Darensbourg and her God-daughter Ursula Culpepper. They were Connie's guardian angels who showered her with love, guidance, and care during her final days. Connie now joins her family in heavenly peace.
