

Helen Zug Ebersole Fansler, 92, of York, PA passed away Tuesday, Sept. 15, 2026, at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Joanne and Joel Miller. Helen was born September 30,1933 in Rheems, Lancaster County, PA to the late Elmer Espenshade Ebersole and the late Ada Hershey Zug Ebersole.
Helen attended school at Sand Hill, Lebanon County, PA. During her life she had worked at G.C. Murphy Co. in the Queensgate Shopping Center, York, PA. Later she studied nursing to become an LPN. She worked at York Hospital for 5 years and then worked in hospice care until she retired.
Helen is survived by her brother, Harold Z. Ebersole of Woodstock, VA. She is also survived by her children: Barbara F. Gardner (Everette) of Mount Solon, VA, Diane M. Neff (Danny) of Airville, PA, Joanne C. Miller (Joel) of Thomasville, PA, and William A. (Bill) Fansler, Jr. (Shaila) of Dallas, TX, 20 grandchildren, 42 great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Helen was predeceased by her daughter, Linda A. Whiteford; siblings: Ralph Z. Ebersole (Betty), Vera Z. Blough, Galen Z. Ebersole (Melva), Marion Z. Brubaker (Wilbur), infant brother James Z. Ebersole, Alice Z. Geiman (Tom), and sister-in-law Dee Ebersole.
At Helen’s request, her body will be cremated. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Oct. 10, 2026, at Spry Church, 50 School St., York, PA. Visitation will be at 10:00 prior to the service at 11:00. The family wishes to express their gratitude to the staff and nurses at both Concordia at Spirit Trust on Kelly Drive and Hospice and Community Care for their wonderful care of Helen these last few months.
