

Iris Wilson Mayberry died peacefully in her home and went to be with Jesus on Monday, August 10, 2026.
She was born on January 15, 1936, in North Carolina to the late Robert K. and Myrtle Wilson.
She is survived by her daughter, Ange Hanmer of Harrisburg, PA, two grandsons, Luke Hanmer (Ashley) and Samuel Hanmer, three great grandchildren and her faithful canine companion, Zoe.
She was the beloved wife of D. Wilson Mayberry who predeceased her. They would have been married 64 years in June 2026.
In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by her brother Donald and sister Rebecca W. Spainhour.
Iris graduated from RJ Reynolds High School in Winston-Salem. She was a retired Vice President of Wachovia Bank (Wells Fargo) and a Registered Nurse. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Clemmons, NC and a member of The Red Hats Society.
She was a gifted artist and had a flair for design and fashion. She also enjoyed antiquing. Above all she was a loving wife and mother beloved by her family and a child of God.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday August 20, 2026 at 11AM at the Forsyth Memorial Park in Winston-Salem, NC. Hayworth Miller Funeral Home will be handling arrangements.
