Born on June 3, 1933, in Dalmatia, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Edgar March and Bessie White.
Janet was retired and a longtime member of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church. A woman of strong opinions and an independent spirit, Janet was never one to shy away from speaking her mind. She found enjoyment in the outdoors, particularly deer and turkey hunting, and treasured the time she spent at her cabin. It was a place where she could enjoy nature, solitude, and the freedom to do things her own way.
Throughout her 93 years, Janet lived life according to her own convictions. She valued her independence, held firmly to her beliefs, and was rarely persuaded to see things differently.
She is survived by her sisters, Harriet Messner of Millersburg and Adelaide Loftus of Philadelphia; her granddaughters, Jessica Stine (Cory) and Shannon Brady (Doug); her great-grandchildren, Sebastian Carroll, Jessica Jantsch (Jacob), Alex Heckert (Brianna), Olivia Heckert (Sam), and Ayden Brady; as well as several great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Janet was preceded in death by her husband, John Rumfelt; her daughter, Cathy Brady (Steve); her brothers, Fredric March, Richard March, Louis March, and Edgar "Eddie" March; and her sisters, Barbara Hartwig, June Horst, Rita Hoy, Doris Welch, and Kathryn Shomper.
In keeping with Janet's wishes, no funeral or memorial services will be held.
