

After a lengthy illness, Joseph Lee Hinkle, Sr., 72, of Columbia, embraced the arms of his loving Lord on Monday, December 26, 2016 at his residence with his beloved wife Linda, of 51 years, by his side.
He was born April 20, 1944 in Columbia, PA to the late Clyde Hinkle and Anna (Logeman) Hinkle Ross. Joe was a member of Columbia United Methodist Church in Columbia; local union 376 AFL-CIO-CLC; and a volunteer fireman and assistant fire hose director with Columbia No. 1. He was employed with Grinnell Corp, in Columbia for 41 years.
Joe enjoyed collecting coins, watching stock car races; gardening; and watching movies.
Surviving are wife Linda; children Tammy Krow (George) of Jacksonville, NC and Joseph Hinkle, Jr. of Columbia, PA; grandchildren: Brittany, Samantha, Kenneth, Brent, Bryce, Sophie; great-granddaughter Samantha; brothers Richard Hinkle (Norma), Raymond Hinkle (Sandy), Jack Hinkle (Sue); sister-in-law Vonnie Hinkle; and several nieces and nephews. Including his parents, also preceding him in death are brothers Clyde Hinkle, Jr., Ralph Hinkle; and step-father Robert W. Ross.
A Memorial Service will be held Friday, January 6, 2017 at 11 AM at Columbia United Methodist Church, 510 Walnut St, Columbia, PA 17512.
