Kenneth L. Gutshall

Kenneth (Ken) Gutshall went home to be with his beloved Savior on October 5th, 2021, after passing away peacefully in his sleep in Carlisle, Pennsylvania. His beloved second wife and high school sweetheart, Ruth (Hock) Gutshall, was by his side. His first wife, Jeanne (Heisey) preceded him in death.

Ken lived a long, happy life, much of it spent in his adopted home state of Wyoming, where he built a joyous life with his church, fishing poles and long drives through Yellowstone and the Big Horn Mountains. Many folks in the Cowboy State will miss Ken’s infectious grin.

He is survived by his four children; Linda Gutshall, Marianne (Edward), Glenn Gutshall and Stephen Gutshall. His daughter Cynthia (Balusong) preceded him in death. Ken was an adored Pop to six grandchildren; Jessica (Scott), Melanie, David and Daniel, Bowen and Xander, and five great grandchildren; Camren (Scott), Owen (Beyers), Leli (Beyers), Bealyn and David. His great grandson Anderson (Scott) preceded him in death.

Ken’s friends and family will remember him fondly as a joyous rascal who always had time to listen, talk, poke fun, and make all around him smile. Even in the face of adversity—as when a man carjacked him and Ruth in Joliet, Indiana—Ken’s kind nature drew strangers to help him and Ruth in a time of need. We will miss him terribly.
