Mary Long Sonntag

Mary Long Sonntag (Weidman/Fry), age 94, died peacefully on Thursday, September 24, 2026 at Magnolia of Lancaster. Born April 26, 1932, daughter of the late Ruth Long Kohr and Joseph Weidman. Beloved wife of Robert Sonntag; loving mother of Richard Charles, Jr and wife Betty (deceased), Dorothy Roden and husband Steve (deceased), Janet Hayes and husband Larry and Charles Fry and wife Rochelle; sister of Joan Shotts, Marion Spangler, Clifford Kohr, the late Pauline Adams and the late Ellen Royer; grandmother of five grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.

Mary retired from Aircraft Marine Products (AMP). She loved fishing, crocheting, the woods, driving around the countryside, hanging with family and friends and playing cards - even though she liked to cheat if she could. If you came in contact with her, you best expect a hug. She loved being able to touch others, which she did just by being who she was. Mary will be missed by all.

Services will be held on Tuesday October 6, 2026 at 11:00 AM at Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church, 75 E High Street, Elizabethtown, PA 17022.
