Peggy A. Snyder

Peggy A. Snyder, age 61, of Elizabethville passed away surrounded by her family on Tuesday, September 29, 2026, at Penn State Hampden Medical Center.

She was born on Tuesday, September 21, 1965, a daughter of the late Boyd Wedde and the late Beverly (Starr) Wedde.

She was a 1983 graduate of Tri-Valley High School. Peggy retired from Pennsylvania Housing Finance Agency after 35 years, but she stayed busy with a part-time job at Du & Associates.

Peggy relished spending time with her friends and family, crafting, cooking, baking, antiquing, and traveling. Every year, she looked forward to tending to her garden. She loved animals and had many pets throughout her life. Peggy appreciated a wide variety of music genres and enjoyed watching old movies. Her caring and practical personality, excellent listening skills, and outstanding advice will be deeply missed by her loved ones.

She was preceded in death by her parents as well as her older siblings Randyll Wedde and Barbara Huntsinger; paternal grandparents Luther and Anna Wedde; maternal grandparents Russell and Mabel Starr; uncles Harry Wedde and Dennis Starr; aunts Annetta Troup and Marie Miller; and stepmother Grace (Kembel) Wedde.

She is survived by her husband, Russell Snyder Jr. and chocolate labrador, Oliver of Elizabethville; daughter, Hilary Snyder and fiancé Jeremy Evans of York; aunts Margaret Mitchell of Ashland and Christine Gessner of Leck Kill; stepsisters Rose Huntzinger of Lititz and Molly Masser of Mechanicsburg; several cousins, nephews, and nieces; and friends, many of whom she considered family.

A Celebration of Life will be hosted by Peggy's family at a later date.
