Richard Charles Rogers

Richard spent most of his life in Southampton, New Jersey, before making his home in Hanover, Pennsylvania. He was married to his beloved wife, Patricia Ann Rogers, for 39 years.

Richard was a hardworking man throughout his life. He especially loved driving tractor trailers, a career he continued to enjoy until just a few years before his passing. He also proudly served his country in the United States Navy.

One of the things that made Richard special was his remarkable ability to remember the smallest details about the people he met. Whether it was something happening in their family, a story they had shared, or a detail from a previous conversation, Richard remembered. The next time he saw them, he would ask about it. It was his unique way of letting people know that he had listened and that what mattered to them mattered to him.

Richard also had a wonderful smile that was unmistakably his. It was a little crooked, incredibly memorable, and something those who knew and loved him will never forget. That smile, along with his genuine interest in the lives of others, was simply part of who Richard was.

Above all, Richard loved Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. His family takes comfort in his faith and in knowing that his earthly journey has ended in the hope he placed in Christ.

Richard is survived by his wife of 39 years, Patricia Ann Rogers; his children, Andrea (Robert), James (Joyce), Richard Jr., and William; his grandchildren, Erica (Tim), Candance, Christopher, Brandon, Sydney, and Cole; and his great-grandchildren, Ian Charles Whitham and Luca Joseph Fiori.

He is also survived by his sisters, Sandy (Anthony) and Patricia (James); his brother, William Jr. (Arlene); as well as several nieces and nephews.

Richard was predeceased by his parents, William and Lillian Rogers, and his daughter, Gail Rogers.

Richard will be remembered as a hardworking man, a devoted husband and father, a proud Navy veteran, and a man whose genuine interest in others made people feel remembered and cared for. His family will deeply miss his memorable crooked smile, his presence, and the many little things that made Richard uniquely Richard.
