

Robert Alison Adams III, affectionately known as "Bob," passed away peacefully in his sleep on July 21, 2026, at Quarryville Presbyterian Retirement Community at the remarkable age of 105. Born and raised in Oxford, Pennsylvania, Bob lived a life marked by his gentle spirit and unwavering faith, service, family, and community.
Bob was the devoted husband of the late Mary Alice (Stillwell) Adams, with whom he shared a love of music. His Christian faith remained the cornerstone of his life. Together they sang countless duets, and Bob's rich voice blessed the congregation of Oxford United Methodist Church for many years.
He is survived by his daughters Regina Adams Chandler and Gail Alison Miller (Alan); his six grandchildren: Shaun Chandler (Laura), Ryan Chandler (Rachel), Christopher Jones (Kira), Kim Jones McCaw (Jeff), Adam Miller (Michelle), and Alison Roskowski (Connor); and nine great-grandchildren: Jamie, Ryan, James, Luke, Amy, Adrienne, Tommy, Sam, and Nick. He took great joy in watching his family flourish.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Mary after 68 years of marriage; his daughter Terri Adams Jones, sons-in-law Robert Larry Jones and Ken Chandler; brother Frank Adams and sisters Elsie Parcell and Edna Bryan.
Bob proudly served his country during World War II as a military photographer, an experience that inspired his lifelong passion for photography. Following the war, he enjoyed a successful career as owner and professional photographer of Adams & Adams Photography Studio in Oxford, preserving treasured memories for countless families throughout the community.
In addition to his photography career, Bob served the Oxford Area School District for 42 years as a school bus driver and for some of those years as district manager. He was known for his dedication, reliability, and care he showed to generations of students.
Bob was an active member of the Lions Club of Oxford for more than 70 years, giving generously of his time and talents to improve the lives of others.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, August 29, at Oxford United Methodist Church. Visitation will be from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., followed by the service at 11:00 am.
