

Ronald Lewis Bender, 88, passed away peacefully on August 21, 2026 at the Lebanon VA Hospice Hospital.
Born in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, Ronald was the son of the late Earl and Agnes Bender. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Jane Bender, and by his sisters, Louise Desmarais and Linda Petersheim.
Ronald dedicated his working years to the refrigeration industry. He also proudly served his country in the United States Army, where he was stationed in Germany.
Ronald’s faith was an important part of his life. He faithfully attended Bible study every Sunday and Wednesday, and his commitment to his faith was a reflection of the life he sought to live. His love for his family and his devotion to the Lord were among the many things that made him special to those who knew him.
He is survived by his children, Kimberly Hager, Ronald Bender, Roger Bender, Douglas Bender and his wife, Reneé, and Gail Troutman and her husband, Brett; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; his sister, Dolores Fidler; and 11 nieces and nephews. He will be deeply missed by his family and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
A memorial service to honor and celebrate Ronald’s life will be held on Saturday, September 5, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Bethel Evangelical Congregational Church, 3716 Main Street, Conestoga, Pennsylvania. A reception will follow the service.
