Ron was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Constance Lopez, and his brother, Eugene Glass. He is survived by his sisters Lee Schiff, Lynn Shamlin, and Jane Sabo, as well as his children Richard Glass, Kellie Spalding, and Jennifer Stipe.
A proud member of the Local 690 Plumbers Union, Ron built a respected career that led him all over Pennsylvania and New Jersey, working for companies like Gilbane, Burns and Roe, and culminating as a Facilities Construction Manager for GPU Nuclear Corporation on Three Mile Island. His work ethic, knowledge, and problem solving abilities earned him the trust of colleagues and the admiration of many.
Outside of work, Ron found joy in life’s simple pleasures. He loved fishing along the banks of the Susquehanna River, lending a helping hand to family and neighbors, enjoying a good meal out, trying his luck at the casino, and hosting legendary cookouts. His potato salad, chili, hotdog sauce, and “purple people eaters” were staples of every gathering.
Ron was truly one of a kind. His Irish wit, Mr. Fix It abilities, and unwavering generosity left an imprint on everyone fortunate enough to know him. We carry forward the lessons he taught us and are all the better for them.
He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
A memorial service will be held at a future date.
