Ronald E Swinn

Ronald (Ron) Swinn, age 60, born on September 6, 1966, passed away on September 9, 2026, after a journey with advanced Alzheimer’s disease.

Ron was a sweet and kindhearted man with a wonderfully silly sense of humor. He had a love for muscle cars, NASCAR, and spending time tinkering in his garage. He treasured his tools, photographs, and the many little trinkets and keepsakes he collected over the years, often holding them close and looking through them each day.

Ron also took great pride in his work. He spent 30 years with DHL as a forklift operator, a job he truly loved. Although he had been away from the job for several years by the time of his passing, those years remained an important part of his life and something he remembered fondly.

Some of Ron’s happiest moments were the simple ones — backyard barbecues, listening to music, sitting around a fire pit, working in his garage, and spending time with the people he loved.

Above all else, Ron loved his wife, Susan Swinn, deeply. During their seven years of marriage, they shared a love that remained strong even as Alzheimer’s changed so much around them. Through his illness and all the challenges that came with it, Ron continued to know happiness, comfort, and love. Susan remained by his side, loving and caring for him through every stage of his journey, and their bond remained one of the brightest parts of his life until the very end.

Ron is survived by his loving wife, Susan Swinn; his mother, Mary Swinn (Wolfe) of Carlisle; his brothers, Russell Swinn and his wife, Kimberly, of Carlisle, Donny Swinn of Carlisle, and John Swinn and his partner, Tina Shoemaker, of Enola; his sons, Ronald Swinn of Carlisle and Samuel Swinn and his wife, Halley, of Marysville; and his grandchildren, Leo Swinn and Maverick Swinn.

He was preceded in death by his father, Russell Swinn Sr.

Ron will be remembered for his gentle heart, his humor, the things that brought him joy, and especially for the love he had for his family. Though Alzheimer’s may have changed parts of his journey, it could never take away the love that surrounded him or the memories that will continue to be cherished by those who knew him.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date, with details to be announced.
