February 26, 1945 – August 15, 2026
Tim Neher, 81, of Susquehanna Township, passed away on Saturday, August 15, 2026, just weeks after his wife of 43 years, Bonnie Neher.
Tim was born and raised in Iowa, the son of the late Richard and Kathleen Neher. He built a career as an educator, teaching psychology and serving as VP of Student Services and a student counselor at HACC, where he met Bonnie, who would become his colleague, friend, and eventually his wife.
Tim and Bonnie married on August 1, 1982, and made their home together in Lower Paxton Township, Harrisburg, Penbrook, and finally Susquehanna Township. Tim brought a daughter, Amanda (Phil) Mullane of Escondido, into the marriage, and together they welcomed a son, Nathan (Bre) Neher of Pt. Loma, later becoming grandparents to five.
An avid tennis player and musician, Tim played both guitar and trumpet and was a devoted member of St. Matthew's Catholic Church in Dauphin. He was known for his warmth, good humor, and steady, understanding nature. Tim is remembered as a devoted husband, father, grandfather, teacher, and friend. He often reminded his family to live life to the fullest and make the most of every minute.
He is survived by his children, Nathan and Mandy; his five grandchildren, Collins, Conrad, Carter, Mick, and Chase; and his sister, Cindy Martindale. He was preceded in death by his wife, Bonnie Neher; his brother, William Neher; and his parents, Richard and Kay Neher.
On Friday, September 4, 2026, family and friends are welcome to celebrate Tim and Bonnie's lives from 10:00 AM until the time of the service at 10:30 AM, at Cremation & Burial Society of Pennsylvania, 4100 Jonestown Road, Harrisburg, PA 17109. A celebration-of-life open-house lunch will be held later that afternoon, with details provided at the service.
